An urban design workshop in Liechtenstein using words and foam blocks.

This was an amusing workshop. We started off by translating English and German words for personal spatial experience by moving around the studio - Nähe = near, Fern = far - and then extending those words to describe the urban environment in Vaduz. We then made models of form and space to make new parts to and used the same words to describe them. To maintain discipline the allowable words were written on the blackboard. It was also an exercise in collaborative working, as groupds developed designs be decribing and critiquing tentative designs to each other before the formal crit.
