Dreadnought Wharf, Deptford
The site for the main design project was Dreadnought Wharf in Deptford. Dreadnought Wharf is typical of recently-developed sites along the river in London: with no real spatial context, but with definite connections to the street and river. The brief was to accommodate a boat-yard and apartments on the site. This combination of uses allowed us to concentrate on how these irreconcilable uses - of work and of inhabitation - could be represented and resolved at the river edge, the street edge, and in the landscape of the site.
