Revisiting Brazil is a development of the exhibition New Architecture in Brazil, held at the Brazilian Embassy in March 2003. New Architecture in Brazil was a result of a collaboration between Michael Frantzis, photographer, and Thomas Deckker, architect and author, both based in London. This exhibition aimed to bring to international attention the work of less well-known São Paulo architects and the recent restoration of historic buildings in the central district of Santa Ifigênia, as well as highlight recent work in Brasília by Thomas Deckker.
The concept for an exhibition on urban regeneration in São Paulo was derived from research undertaken by Thomas Deckker during the First International Seminar on the Teaching of the Built Environment [SIEPAC] at the University of São Paulo in 2000.
